How I feel about this blog...
Well I can definitely say that this has helped me as a writer. It hasn't improved my grammar or spelling, but I think that's it's helped me find my "voice". I'm a pretty sarcastic and opinionated person in reality, but it's all in good fun. And I think that with the freedom this blog has allowed me to have, I feel like the person talking in my writing is actually me and not some made-up, monotone person.
I think the hardest part of writing a blog in general is coming up with new and interesting topics. I definitely feel like most of my entries lame and the rest are just dumb. I think that's mostly because I ended up not being interested in what I had originally planned on writing about. I tried to stay on topic, but how can you say on topic when you hate the topic? So in the end, I found that the hardest part was ironically the best thing for me.
I don't think that I will continue with blogging. I just don't feel like I am a strong enough writer nor am I creative enough to keep it interesting for the reader or myself. I think it's really cool when someone can make an interesting blog consistently. From my experience, it's hard so props for them!
Some of my favorite blogs of all time actually come from our classroom. I think Paul's has some very in-depth material that is extremely thought-provoking and entertaining at the same time. Haley's poetry is absolutely breathtaking; I can read it over and over and never grow tired of it. Leslie's blog take me back to the happiness of memory-lane with her adorable Disney topics. Dustin's video blogs are what I go to for a good laugh. And Jake's...well he's got an interesting obsession with Sasquatch that never ceases to amuse. So yeah, those are my favorites blogs so far :)
Overall, I think my favorite posts are the ones where I just let my feelings out on certain subjects. These would include "Dat Gap", "Tra la la la la", and "Glitter". I love the catharsis you feel after emptying out your true feelings on subjects. It's a little weird because I am so overly opinionated but I don't usually just blurt out my opinion, so it was a great experience being able to have a semi-private outlet for that.
At first I didn't think that I would enjoy blogging. But in the end, it was a great experience. :)
